Legislative Action Alert 1/10/2014

Attention all hands, it’s action time.  The legislature goes back into session this coming Monday, and it is never too early to start letting your representatives hear from you.

Most pressing are  the Senate bill SB 5141 (Traffic Signals) and the House version, HB 1238 are poised to see early action.  I was busy during the interim working with House and Senate Transportation leadership, the sponsors of both bills, and the Senate Majority Caucus Leader.  The bottom line is that everyone wants to get those bills back in motion and passed.  If the members of the Senate hear enough traffic from constituents we have a good chance of getting the Senate bill passed out over to the House, possibly as early as the end of the week or early on the second week.

All riders need to contact both of their House members and their Senator immediately and ask for their support for immediate action on  SB 5141 and HB 1238.  The sooner they hear from us the better.  Let’s get this traffic signal issue behind us.

If you don’t know yet who your representatives are, follow this link.

Until next time,

Ride safely and legislate well,
