I have some really good news about SB 5141 (Traffic Signals). The bill is scheduled for a hearing in House Transportation on the 24th and Executive Action on the 27th. That means that as soon as the 28th the bill could be made ready to go to the floor of the House for a final vote. After that, if there are any changes (rumored to be likely to add the definitive 90 second language as per the Uniform Traffic Control Manual standard for signal cycling) the Senate will have to concur. At that point the bill will go to the Governor’s desk. The Governor’s policy office has already been given a preliminary briefing, and I fully intend to make a follow up visit.
All indications are that the House wants to move this bill to the governor’s desk for signature, but everyone still needs to contact their Representatives and their Senator to keep the issue alive and on the radar.
