Here’s some more really good news about SB 5141 (Traffic Signals). The bill was moved out of the House Transportation Committee on Tuesday with a “Do Pass” recommendation. I have yet to see the final bill report, but in light of some of the conversations during the hearing I have the feeling that the committee recommendation is to add language requiring that the rider wait 90 seconds before moving through the intersection. That is definitely an acceptable addition to the bill.
When I have more information I will make sure to pass it on, along with the necessary “talking points” for when we light up the phone lines. As for now, just be prepared to call your Representatives (as well as your Senator if there is an amendment) for one last push.
If you don’t know yet who your representatives are, follow this link.
Until next time,
